Haiti - 2026 World Cup Preparation : Friendly Match, Haiti vs French Guiana [1-1]
This Saturday, March 23, 2024, our Grenadiers on the lawn of the Edmard Lama Stadium in Cayenne, faced the local team "Yana Dòkò" from French Guiana in a friendly match.

This match is part of the preparation of our Grenadiers for the qualifying phase of the Confederation of North America, Central America and the Caribbean (CONCACAF) for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will take place in three countries Canada, Mexico and the United States for the very first time.

Starting eleven :
For this friendly match between the Grenadiers and the "Yana Dòkò" of French Guiana the new French coach Sébastien Migné https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-41843-icihaiti-football-sebastien-migne-new-coach-of-the-grenadiers-senior.html revealed its first team composition with Duckens Nazon as captain (Ricardo Adé being out). A choice which underlines Migné's confidence in Nazon's experience to guide the team on the pitch.

In a stadium where many Haitian supporters were present Duckens Nazon from the penalty spot opened the scoring for Haiti in the 34' [1-0]. Although Haiti dominated in the first period the score remained unchanged at half time.

Returning from the locker room, our Grenadiers were more aggressive without finding a conclusive opening, Danley Jean-Jacques, (sent off) received a red card for an anti-play gesture on a Guyanese. Ludovic Baal in the 76' on penalty found the equalizer for the "Yana Dòkò" [1-1] score unchanged at the end of regulation time.

It was the 5th confrontation between the two countries. Historically, Guyana had won twice over Haiti, there was a draw and Haiti's only victory over Guyana dates back to 2012 [2-1] during the first face to face between the two teams at the stadium. Baduel in Cayenne (in Guyanne).
